  • Christmas in the Andes

As we embrace the joy of the holiday season, we are thrilled to share the return of our second annual Christmas in the Andes program! This cherished initiative brings the magic of Christmas to children and families in the remote highland villages near Cusco, Peru.

    Our Mission and Villages

Our mission is about more than gifts and celebrations. Christmas in the Andes is about sharing hope, joy, and building bridges of understanding, love, and unity across worlds.

This year, the Friends of Mundo team will journey into the breathtaking Andean highlands of Cusco, Peru, where remote villages rest at the foot of some of the most sacred mountains. In each community, we’ll spend the day embracing traditions, sharing stories, and celebrating the holiday season.

Here are the Villages We Will Be Visiting

We are honored to return to these highland villages, where past visits have allowed us to share in their traditions, exchange stories, and better understand the challenges they face. This year, we’ll continue strengthening these bonds while bringing holiday joy and support to these vibrant communities.

    •    Hullioc: December 19, 2024 (See Past Visits)

    •    Tomacaya: December 20, 2024 (See Past Visits)

    •    Pacchanta: December 22, 2024 (See Past Visits)

Nestled in the breathtaking Andean highlands, these villages are rich in culture and tradition. Each visit has been a meaningful exchange, and we look forward to creating new shared experiences this holiday season.

    Our Program Includes:

    •    Preparing and serving hot chocolate and fresh bread, creating a moment of warmth and togetherness.

    •    Distributing clothing and toys to children, sparking joy and gratitude.

    •    Participating in games, songs, and local traditions, spreading holiday cheer and building bonds.

    •    Creating lasting memories through heartfelt interactions, listening to villagers’ stories, and sharing the spirit of Christmas.

These experiences inspire hope among the people and bring a healing energy to the land, fostering a spirit of unity and renewal that endures far beyond the holiday season.

    Program Budget

With just $200 per village, the impact is truly remarkable. This modest budget provides food, gifts, and transportation, creating experiences that uplift spirits, honor cherished traditions, and fill entire communities with the magic of the season. For only $600, three villages in the highlands will experience a holiday celebration that brings joy, inspires gratitude, and leaves a legacy of hope and renewal.
